ABOUT NBA BASKETBALL SCHOOL PROGRAM
The NBA Basketball Schools are a tuition-based basketball development program for international male and female players ages 8 – 19. The mission of NBA Basketball School is to inspire young athletes and to provide a unique development opportunity through exposure of established coaches with proven training techniques. The coaches will introduce and familiarize all student-athletes with NBA Basketball School elite training methodology and techniques.
One of the things that truly separates the NBA Basketball School Program apart is our clear framework for player development. The players in our program each have a clear plan for success as they move through the curriculum. After attending a trial session, players are placed into their appropriate skill level to begin taking part in the curriculum. There are regular ‘skill assessments’ that provide players to move up to the next team and level of skill building. In addition to detailed weekly practices, each team and level also plays in weekly competitions on the weekends.
CURRICULUM
The NBA Basketball School curriculum has been developed to help players, parents, coaches, and organizations better understand the process of improvement. The curriculum is a developmentally-based progression that depends on players mastering new skills before advancing to the next level. It’s not based on a player’s age, but rather on his or her proficiency at key skills. In the first four levels of the curriculum, coaches will focus on teaching student-athletes the basic fundamentals of the game of basketball, and will use a skill progression checklist that helps players advance through developmental levels.
As they progress through each level, players will be challenged by increasing the level of difficulty and intensity of the drills. This approach helps players to continually develop and enjoy the positive reinforcement of mastering new skills. After completing the first four levels, student-athletes advance to an elite level of player development. This second stage focuses on the advancement and mastery of basketball skills learned throughout the first four stages, while placing significantly more focus on team concepts and competition. Coaches will introduce more complex basketball techniques, concepts and tactics that are commonly used in elite high school, university, and professional basketball programs.
Rookie
Ages 8U-19U
This is a great level for those of you looking to have your child get started the right way in basketball. Practices included detailed instruction on the most fundamentals of the game – with a goal of building a solid foundation.
80% of practices are instruction based, 20% focused on game play. If your child is really into
basketball and is ‘ready to learn’; this is a great level for them. Listening skills at a young age are very important at this level. Teams are gender based and will only be mixed if necessary. Practices are held for 2-3 hours per week, depending on age (can be customized). The selection for this level will be made by our Technical Director during the first week of training.

Our comprehensive curriculum ensures that your child is working within a structure of development that is considered the finest in the world.
Our program also places a big emphasis on character development. Presentations on motivation, values, work ethic, and life skills are conducted at every practice session. Our program is far more than just about basketball…our goal is to truly be an ally for parents working to raise their kids the right way.
We also use Notebook Concept for learning. Players from Rookie Level up have a player notebook and take notes during all practices and games.
Teams will play internal games and friendly games.
Evaluation reports and Skill Assessments are conducted each term. Meetings are available with the technical team for players and parents to discuss the skills assessment and evaluation.
Players on each of our teams starting at the 14U Level and up take part in our NBA School Basketball Strength Program.
We will set up a Student-Assistant Program for our players who want to earn leadership experience.
Starter
Ages 8U-19U
This is a great level for players that already have a solid base of skill and are looking to take things to the next level.
Practices included detailed instruction on the fundamentals of the game – including an intro into more advanced skill techniques. 80% of practices are instruction based, 20% focused on game play. Players take notes during each session.
If your child is really into basketball, has a solid base of skill, and is ‘ready to learn; this is a great level for them. Teams are gender based and will only be mixed, if necessary, practices are held for 3 hours per week. The selection for this level will be made by our Technical Director during the first week of training.

This level of play at the NBA School is the perfect fit for those with a very solid baseline of skill and are considered high level contributors to a team. They are very motivated to improve and are not new to the game/understand the rules, etc. To be eligible, the player must have passed their Starter Level Skills Assessment.
Practices include detailed instruction on the fundamentals of the game – including more advanced skill techniques. 80% of practices are instruction based, 20% focused on game play.
Players take notes during each session. Teams are gender based and will only be mixed, if necessary, practices are held for 4 hours per week (can be customized). The selection for this level will be made by our Technical Director during the first week of training.

This our highest level of play at the NBA School. Players at this level are considered the best players on their school teams and have a burning desire to be at the top of their class.
Practices include detailed instruction on the basic fundamentals of the game – as well as the most advanced techniques available in the game today. 80% of practices are instruction based, 20% focused on game play. Players take notes during each session.
Teams are gender based and will only be mixed, if necessary, practices are held for 4 hours per week. The selection for this level will be made by our Technical Director during the first week of training.
